Joint Meeting of y-BIS and jSPE

The first meeting of y-BIS (Young Business and Industrial Statisticians of the International Society for Business and Industrial Statistics) jointly with the first meeting of jSPE (Section of Young Statisticians of the Portuguese Statistical Society), will be held at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal, from July 23 to 26, 2012.

The purpose of the Joint Meeting of y-BIS and jSPE is to bring together young statisticians and professionals working in Academia and in Industry. The conference will offer opportunities to meet each other, and to share scientific and professional experiences. This meeting will cover many of the research areas in Probability and Statistics, and many areas of application. The session topics include but are not limited to the following areas: Business and Industrial Statistics; Applied Statistics; Computational and Graphical Statistics; Econometrics; Biostatistics; Environmental Statistics and Environmetrics; Bayesian Statistics; Extreme Value Statistics; Multivariate Statistics; Mathematical Statistics; Spatial Statistics; Time Series Analysis; Stochastic Processes; Actuarial Sciences; Probability Theory; Official Statistics; Survey Statistics; Statistical Education.

XX Congresso Anual da Sociedade Portuguesa de Estatística

O XX Congresso Anual da Sociedade Portuguesa de Estatística decorrerá de 26 a 29 de Setembro de 2012 no campus da Foz da Universidade Católica Portuguesa no Porto. É organizado pela Faculdade de Economia e Gestão da Católica e pela Sociedade Portuguesa de Estatística (SPE).

Este  Congresso é dirigido a profissionais e utilizadores da Estatística, académicos, investigadores e estudantes.

Objetivos:

• Estimular a produção científica nacional e a sua divulgação
• Fomentar a colaboração científica
• Incentivar a troca de experiências de ensino
• Reforçar a afirmação e coesão da SPE

O programa científico do Congresso compreende um mini-curso; sessões plenárias com a presença de ilustres conferencistas convidados; e comunicações (orais ou posters) seleccionadas.  

Os congressistas e seus acompanhantes registados são convidados a participar no Programa Social do Congresso.
